 Volunteering is easier than you think. Whether you can spare an hour a month or a day a year, we have loads of opportunities both behind the scenes and directly supporting young people. With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis. 

​

Not only is it incredibly rewarding and great fun, you’ll learn some brilliant skills transferable to the workplace and further education.

​

It doesn't matter if you can't put up a tent or tie a knot or you don't know North from South (you'll fit right in!), Scout leaders aren't expected to know everything (or anything!) - if you are willing and want to support the development of young people in the Hope Valley, then you are perfect!

You can make the difference...

Helpers are essential to the running of the group, but for Hathersage Scout Group to continue in 2022, we urgently need new leaders, for our Beavers & Scouts sections. Without leaders the group will not continue, so we are looking for new people to join our leadership team. Being a leader no longer means giving your life over to it; you can give as much time and energy as you want to the role. No new leader is thrown in the deep end and our existing leaders will be there to offer support and help ease you in, as you start in the new role.

We meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings to help our 6 to 14 year-olds get going, get thinking and get stuck into all kinds of things to give them skills for life.
